Webinar: Resiliency in Sustainable Building

August 23, 2016 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

$5

“Resilience is the capacity of a community, business, or natural environment to prevent, withstand, respond to and recover from a disruption” according to the US-Climate Resilience Toolkit, and a recent NAHB study shows that 84% of consumers see resiliency as a top influencer in a home purchase decision. In the midst of the 2016 hurricane season, join us as we explore resiliency standards, how we are currently incorporating resiliency into our buildings and further opportunities to design and construct resilient communities. Guest presenter Christy Everett, Hampton Roads Director of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation will present a case study on the touted Brock Center in Virginia Beach. This webinar serves as an introduction to the Science Museum of Virginia’s PrepareAthon on August 27, 2016.

Speakers:

KC Bleile & Sean Evensen-Shanley, Viridiant and Christy Everett, Chesapeake Bay Foundation
