KC Bleile
Executive Director
As Executive Director, KC oversees the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. She joined Viridiant as its first employee and helped pioneer the Commonwealth’s first state-wide green building program. She is a RESNET certified HERS Rater. KC has a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Policy and Planning from Virginia Tech. She is also a 2012 graduate of Nonprofit Learning Point’s Emerging Nonprofit Leadership Program.

Sean Shanley
Deputy Director
As Deputy Director, Sean oversees Viridiant’s single family programs including EarthCraft House, provides Technical Advisor oversight and acts as RESNET Quality Assurance Designee. In addition to those responsibilities, Sean will be assisting in piloting new programs within the single family marketplace. Sean has been a certified HERS rater since 2008 and has worked on a range of new construction and renovation projects for single family and multifamily buildings, including ones pursuing Energy Star, EarthCraft, LEED for Homes, WaterSense, and Indoor airPLUS certifications. Sean serves as the primary RESNET and LEED for Homes QAD for Viridiant. He graduated from Emerson College with a Bachelor of Arts in New Media and from VCU with a Master of Environmental Studies.

Andrew Grigsby
Energy Services Director
Andrew leads the Community Energy Services Department to provide energy efficiency and renewable energy services and consulting directly to consumers. Andrew has more than 30 years’ experience as a practitioner, educator, and leader in the clean energy, construction, and community planning industries. Prior to joining Viridiant, Andrew served as Executive Director of the Richmond Region Energy Alliance, the Virginia Renewable Energy Alliance, and the Local Energy Alliance Program; Director of Business Development for commercial solar pioneer Secure Futures; owner/founder of the consulting firm Commonwealth Sustainability Works; Program Manager of the City of Austin Sustainable Communities Initiative; and carpenter, handyman, and furniture-maker in a variety of settings. Andrew earned a master’s degree in community and regional planning from The University of Texas and a bachelor’s degree in social theory from Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds the LEED AP (BD+C) and Building Performance Institute Building Analyst professional certifications and is a licensed Residential Building Energy Analyst in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Andrew lives in the Woodland Heights/Swansboro area of Richmond with his wife, Trista, who is the Farm to School Specialist for the Virginia Department of Education. They have two young boys.
