EarthCraft Building Professional Training

This 7-hour builder training provides a comprehensive overview of best practices for sustainable construction and design and explores how the EarthCraft program can help you get started in the green building sector. Whether you’re a single-family home builder, developer, architect, HVAC or insulation contractor, property owner/manager, or Housing Development Authority, you’ll learn cost-effective ways to improve the energy efficiency, indoor air quality, comfort and durability of homes, enhancing overall client appeal.

ENERGY STAR for Homes Version 3 training

For HERS Raters trainings
take place over a two day period and will cover a range of topics that raters and field inspectors will need to know to qualify homes under ENERGY STAR Versions 2.5 and 3, including the ENERGY STAR Reference Design Home, Benchmark Home/Size Adjustment Factor, as well as technical details for completing the required ENERGY STAR Inspection Checklists (Thermal Enclosure Rater Checklist, HVAC Quality Installation Contractor and Rater Checklists and Water Management System Builder Checklist). ENERGY STAR Version 3 training will count towards RESNET required Professional Development credit and will conclude with the required ENERGY STAR exam for Raters and Field Inspectors.

EarthCraft Real Estate Professional training

Looking for effective ways to market EarthCraft-certified buildings? The EarthCraft program provides a training class that teaches the principles of green building. In addition, you’ll learn the specifics of the EarthCraft program in order to most successfully present and market sustainably built, green homes.

The three-and-a-half-hour EarthCraft Real Estate Professional class presents there basics of building science, including the role of indoor air quality in providing a healthful living environment as well as the impact of utility costs including energy and water on the lifetime cost of home ownership. In addition, the curriculum includes a review of techniques for identifying categories and demographics of green home buyers, strategies for marketing green buildings, tips on recognizing green home features and translating them into homebuyer benefits, and background information on policy and mortgage incentives for purchasing energy-efficient buildings.

Once you’ve completed the training, you can receive the EarthCraft Real Estate Professional designation, allowing you to reach out to a growing customer base interested in sustainably built homes and distinguish yourself from other home sales professionals.
