LEED®, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally-recognized green building certification system. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council® (USGBC) in March 2000, LEED provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
EarthCraft Virginia is a LEED for homes provider for new construction Single-Family, Multi-Family Low-rise and Mid-rise projects.
All projects that participate in the LEED for Homes program must do so through a LEED for Homes Provider such as EarthCraft Virginia. The Provider guides the project team through the (LEED for Homes) certification process, oversees the Green Rater verification work (with the project) and submits the project to USGBC for certification.
The LEED for Homes Project Checklist is the outline for the program and the main working document utilized throughout the project. Exploring its many tabs and linked resources is a great place to start to get a feel for the program as well as referencing the LEED for Homes website and reference guide.
