Home Improvement

Comfort problems? Sustainability questions? Help with an addition or renovation? We’ve got you covered. We offer a number of resources and services for helping your home be the best it can be.

Take the Energy Pledge!
Evaluate your home

Let Viridiant evaluate your home’s energy efficiency and identify where your utility dollars are being spent. Knowing this, you can better determine what areas of your home will provide the greatest opportunity for savings. We’ll also let you know if you’re a good candidate for solar panels and some advice for where to get started with improvements.

The Home Energy Assessment uses a year of utility bills (electric, gas, water, oil and propane) and the corresponding weather data for that time frame to determine how much energy goes to heating, cooling, water heating, and lights, appliances, and plug loads.

Plan Review

If you are putting on an addition or doing significant renovations, we can use our expertise to help you meet your efficiency goals and to ensure critical air-sealing, moisture management, and insulation details are specified correctly in your plans.

Consulting

If you’re struggling with a specific issue in your home or would like assistance weighing your efficiency options, we can provide building science-based consulting services. We can assist with troubleshooting a room that is never a comfortable temperature, investigating moisture issues, a whole house energy audit, or providing sizing (manual J) for replacement HVAC systems.

At my house we’re going to do a nature scavenger hunt! I found a really cool one at talkstem.org that my kids will love and will get them out and engaged with our environment.

I plan to spend as much time outside as possible by reading on the patio, going on a bike ride, taking my dogs on a long walk, and playing around in my garden.

The Grigsby family will be gardening, playing outside, visiting with neighbors from the sidewalk and doing maintenance at the nearby community garden: mowing grass, trimming bushes, and planting vegetables. All rain or shine!
